The hystorical center of Cuorgnè still today shows a typical medieval aspect with ancient houses, one of those is a noble palace probably from the 16th century, called "Casa del re Arduino" although successive to the epoch while the king was alive. Presents gothic arches, beautified with decorations of flowers (they got copied from Alfredo D’Andrade for the medieval castle del Valentino in Turin), with doors and windows decorated with friezes in terracotta.
The chiesa parrocchiale di San Dalmazzo, built in the 17th century, today is present as a structure from the 18th century, but still conserves in an apposite chapel the ancient Byzantine imagine of Nostra Signora di Rivassola, which is believed to be miraculous.
Outstanding in the middle of the town are: the torre dell'Orologio, la torre quadrata (maybe of ancient roman origin) and the torre Carlevatto, round (both of them built in the 14th century and of same height), the chiesa della Santissima Trinità (nowadays a multi-medial centre), an altar painting from Perucca (1691) and those of San Giovanni, with paintings from Bassetti Da Orta.
A few kilometres from downtown you can find the Sacro Monte di Belmonte. In 2003, together with other six “sacri monti” of Piedmont, the whole monument has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was built from Michelangelo da Montiglio, observing minor friar, starting at 1712, with some interruptions, till 1825.
Observing the castle plan, you can easily recognize into the urban tissue towards orient the bastions of defence, medieval age, which surrounded the whole historical centre. Along the ramparts still runs the peripheral road intern to the walls, called “Cursera”, from there continue a branch of pedestrian paths. Since Cuorgné in the past had been headquarters of juridical administration, the capital sentences took place under the bastions, on the square called “Rondò della forca”.
The Museo Archeologico preserves importants memorabilia, from the prehistory until the roman epoch, founded in diggings in the Alto Canavese and gives a bright envision of the antique history of the territory.
An important example of industrial archaeology is the “Manifattura cuorgnatese” at the moment being restored. In the locality of Piova, hamlet of Priacco you can admire a medieval bridge, made of stones and with one arch, once the old connection between Alto Canavese and Ivrea.
