National park of Gran Paradiso The National park of Gran Paradiso, instituted in 1922, is the most ancient Italian National Park together with the National Park of Abruzzo. Is extended among the regions of Valle d’Aosta and Piedmont and is managed from the Ente Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso, with head office in Turin. His extension has a surface of nearly 70.318 hectares, on a mainly mountainous soil. |

Lake of Viverone The lake of Viverone is situated at 230 meters above mean sea level and is extended within the provinces of Biella, Vercelli and Turin, on the moraine hills of the Serra. The southern and eastern part of the lake has rich vegetation, while the northern part has been urbanized with hotels, camping and beaches. A Navigation line of recent constitution joins the harbours of Lido, Masseria, Comuna and Anzasco. Viverone is an important fulcrum for tours through Biellese, Monferrato, Valle d’Aosta and is an obligatory walkway for tours beyond the Alps. |

Lake of Candia The lake of Candia, located by the town of Candia Canavese, about 30 kilometres from Turin, is the last wetland area of the Piedmont’s Pianura Padana and nature reserve since 1995, facing the mountains barrier of the Occidental Alps. |

Ivrea Ivrea is a town of the province of Turin with more than 24.000 inhabitants. It’s considered the “Capital of the Canavese”. Ivrea is known for his own historical carnival, where the famous “oranges battle” takes place. The origin of the carnival can be situated in 1808, the year when the Napoleon Government ordered to unify the previous district carnivals in a unique celebration. |

The Sacred Mountain of Belmonte The Sacred Mountain of Belmonte, with his Sanctuary and Chapels of the Via Crucis, is situated on a hillock which culminates isolated in the territory of Valperga on an altitude of 727 meters amsl, covered with dense vegetation. The complex unites elements of naturalistic interests like the presence of red granite of unusual quality, the woods patrimony and the suggestion of great view on a large part of the Piedmont’s territory, with elements of archaeological and historical interest. In fact, some tracks of an antique prehistorically culture of the Bronze Age has been found; meanwhile some recent diggings brought to the light the rests of a longobards village with his fortifications. |
